Multiple Portland police officers and Oregon State Police observed three to five flat round white discs flying in formation at terrific speed in a southerly direction on July 4, 1947, estimated at 40,000 feet altitude with no visible propulsion or sound.
“Both officers advised that upon hearing the radio alert, they saw three flat round discs, having a white color to them. These discs were, according to these officers, flying at a terrific speed in a Southerly direction away from Portland, They described them as flying in a straight line formation, the last disc fluttering very rapidly in a side way arc. Both officers estimated the discs altitude at 40,000 feet.”
