An astronaut observed a bright green Aurora-type light in the airglow layer that changed in color and appeared to affect the height of the airglow below it, creating sharp definition changes in the atmospheric layer.
“Pete spotted an interesting phenomenon that he pointed out one night that I had never seen before. It looked like an Aurora. It was an Aurora type light and it was a very bright green. It changed in color and was in the airglow layer. It actually changed the height of the airglow below.”
