P-47 Pilot Intercepts Object Over Japan

A U.S. Air Force pilot flying a P-47 at 1,500 feet altitude sighted an unidentified flying object approximately 3 miles east of his position, estimated at 200 mph speed. The object made a sharp 90-degree left turn and accelerated out of sight in approximately 5 seconds, described as having a half-moon shape resembling a flying wing with an estimated 30-foot wingspan.
