Ralph Vella reported observing a jet in flight followed by an explosion, with an object leaving the plane and moving eastward, emitting a bright light before appearing to drop from the sky near NYC.
“At 6100 PM, RALPI VELLA, 10 Hillerest ie West Paterson, N.J., telepho seco advised that at about 5:5 PM he had seen a jet } flying SE, heard an ex- plosion, saw an object leave plane and move in an easterly direction. A bright light emanated from the ob- 3 3 ~ ject and after several minutes it nepeee ee to drop from the sky in the vieinity ef N.Y.C.”
